    Re: Young voters

If the republicans have half a brain left they will start going after the young vote. It will all depend on who feels the power vacuum left by Bush and if that person appeals to the young crowd.

    Re: Young voters

odumbo got the "young vote" because he too is young and eccentric and alot of people viewed him more of a rock star type than a politician

the truth is that on many of the political issues on either side most young people often dont know enough about them to construct an informed opinion either way or simply dont care because the issues sometimes dont affect them at all

if you look at the 18-25 crowd

many do not have children or if they do they are very young and thus education isnt that important at this point

many are either still in college, just out of or have jobs right out of HS and dont make enough money yet to be concerned with tax increases and the idea of getting an addition few hundred dollars through some promised "tax cut" seems like a great idea

often of they are still in school full time have medical coverage under the policy of a parent and arent paying it themselves and thus dont realize what healthcare insurance costs

some either arent working yet or are in school working P/T or have just started a job and havent paid much into SS.......some dont even realize that they are even paying anything into it......so SS isnt really important to them either

many dont know the history of those in office from previous admins that may have contributed to current issues and events or that may have tried things and failed in the past or even know enough to do policy comparisons or dollar comparisons of what these proposed changes really means for the country and to taxpayers as whole

i could go on and on........but my basic point is that many of the "young voters" arent informed or interested enough about most of the issues to form a true opinion and have their opinions biased by what they hear from older people, or get via the MSM

I think going after the 18-30 crowd is smart in that many of the people in that catagory are still open to voteing for one side or the other where as the 65+ age group are more likly to be voteing for a party more than a canadate (and are not likly to change the party that they have been voteing for) </div></div>
Young Republican Party = pertineer a sausage fest... </div></div>
There you go acting 12 again </div></div>

Please show me where i have acted 12. Just because i dont agree with your views doesn't mean i was being childish just means i had a different opinion. When you start calling a get together as a sausage fest just because of a groups political party is immature and you know it.

    Re: Young voters

Lets see, your little showing with elpn the other say when you acted like a complete ass to a very classy lady. I'd ease up on others acting childish if I were either of you two, you show your ass just as much or more than anybody you [censored] about. And the very exact thing about both of you when it comes to ones opinions, you are just as biased. So lets not pretend you are some independents that came to your "conclusions" about Obama all on your own, you were drinking the Koolaid but just another flavor.
